When you are looking for data center space it is important to consider what kind of data center space you need. Not all data center space is created equal and you can find yourself in an unfortunate situation if you are not careful and do not perform your full research before you make your selection.
Portland Oregon data centers have become an increasingly hot location for data center growth in the industry. Oregon data centers provide a great location for highly efficient facilities that can take advantage of the outside air for use with cooling, known as “free cooling”. This approach allows the minimization of the use of chillers which reduces the power usage and ultimately the output of carbon. With most data center choices the raised flooring and facility features are all seemingly the same but you really need to make sure you lift up the hood and ask the right questions to ensure that you truly are getting what you are paying for. You want to make sure that the power infrastructure has true redundancy built in from the ground up. You want to make sure that the electrical distribution, the UPS infrastructure, the generators, fueling sources and run-time, mechanical infrastructure and fire suppression systems are completely redundant to at least N+1 or 2N.
Oregon data centers have been growing in popularity recently with the addition of the new Facebook data center in Prineville Oregon, the growth of Google in the Dalles and Apple’s massive facility in eastern oregon. Opus Interactive has been in our Oregon data centers from the beginning and continue to expand our footprint. Our newest 240,000 square feet high-density LEED Gold 20MW facility in Hillsboro Oregon adds to our existing 80,000 square feet high-efficiency 8MW Oregon data center. We welcome a tour of our new facility where we can show you how datacenters are not all treated equally and show you what a truly redundant and high-efficient data center design looks like.
