Opus Interactive operates its primary Data Center in NW Portland, Oregon. Our data center is a Tier III, TIA-942, PCI and SAS 70 carrier neutral certified data center facility. 8MW of power, 80,000 sq. feet, N+1/2N on all systems. Multiple fiber and power vaults with diverse paths and dozens of fiber providers to choose from. Opus Interactive has dark fiber, diverse paths, to the pittock building with access to every major provider in Oregon.
Diversification is key component for redundancy and preventive disasters. Opus Interactive has partnered with one of the nation’s best data centers in the country. This Dallas based data center is fully equipped to house servers to mission-critical data center operations, all within a high-security, state-of-the-art facility. The center’s 24/7 on-site staff and video monitoring, combined with its own SAS 70 Type II audit makes it partner of choice.
Our primary data center is in a convenient, central location that is easy to get to from anywhere in the Portland metro area. Located in Portland’s Brewery Blocks in the Pearl District neighborhood, it is a convenient commute from anywhere within the Greater Portland Area.
Our data center is secured by card-lock entry. Only 24/7 colocation customers and our network administrators have access. Plus, we capture all data center activity on recorded CCTV – 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The entire building, our NOC, plus the data center are secured by card-lock and monitored by a motion-triggered CCTV system. Our on-site data center staff monitors the building and instantly responds any data center movement. Biometric access for cages, suites and the NOC are also in place. Man-traps at the entrance and on the 3rd and 4th floors are in place. Every suite is secured and each cabinet is locked with custom keyed locks and combo locks for colocation customers.
We use the best equipment available in our data center. Our vendor service agreements are structured in a way that allows us to quickly respond to and repair malfunctioning equipment. Our network equipment vendors include Cisco Systems, Lucent, Intel®, APC, IBM, Libert, Array Networks, IronPort, HP, and Fujitsu. We utilize 10Gig Sup engines in our Cisco networking infrastructure. It is fully redundant and on-site spares are available in addition to our Cisco support contracts. We configure all our networking infrastructure to be fully redundant at every layer allowing to be 100% concurrently maintainability.

Available Fiber Providers through our Dark Fiber to the Pittock:
We utilize multiple Internet backbone providers in a multi-homed architecture, using the BGP protocol to determine fastest Internet routes. If one provider becomes unavailable, the others assume the traffic until capacity is restored. Peering arrangements and this level of redundancy ensures the highest level of network availability for our customers. Additionally, we use Hot Swap Router Protocol (HSRP) on our core routers to provide equipment failover in our Cisco core.
Redundant and conditioned power is assured through use of our modular high-efficiency UPS infrastructure and our on-site diesel backup power generator with fuel storage. Our fuel capacity of 28,000 gallons of diesel allows us over 72 hours of run time at full load before re-fueling is required. Our contracts with our two fueling providers guaranteed refueling within 4 hours. We have a total of 8MW provisioned to our facility configured for 2N redundancy at every layer.
